Instructions and Preparation for a Newborn Photo Shoot

Dear parents,

The first days with your baby are extremely special. A newborn photo shoot is not just photography, but capturing these fleeting moments of tenderness and love. To ensure maximum comfort, safety, and beautiful results, please familiarize yourself with the guidelines below.

Recommendations and Information:

1. Sleep is key:
To take beautiful photos in a sleepy state, it's important for the baby to be awake as long as possible before the session. If possible, wake them up 1–1.5 hours before departure.

2. Appropriate clothing:
Dress the baby in loose clothes that unbutton from the front or bottom – not those that are pulled over the head. This allows us to change them without waking them if they're asleep.

3. Studio temperature:
It will be warm (around 28°C) because newborns cannot yet regulate their body temperature and like to be warm.

4. Family clothing:
We'll also take photos with mom, dad, and siblings – wear clothing in light, neutral tones without bright prints and text. This creates a calm and aesthetic result.

5. Safety first:
All poses we apply are in accordance with the physiology of the newborn. We shoot slowly, with care, patiently and without pressure – we will follow the baby's rhythm and needs.

⏰ Duration:

The session can take up to 4 hours. We usually finish in about 2 hours. This includes time for feeding, calming, changing, and photos.

What to bring:

Bottle/pacifier: Even if the baby doesn't use a bottle at home, it can be extremely useful for calming during the photo shoot.

Baby food (3 feedings): Depending on the feeding method, bring enough milk. It's good for the baby to feed in the studio before the start of shooting.

Colic drops: If you suspect or know that the baby has colic, don't forget the drops – they can help for a calmer photo session.

Diapers, wet wipes, and spare clothes (for baby and parents): During the session, accidents may happen, so be prepared for changing.

Hair brush: Optional – useful if the baby has more hair and you want them to look neat.
